A 2018 Pantone Colour Trend

Unless you have been living under a fashion rock, you will have seen pops of what's deemed to be one of 2018's most prominent colours according to the colour gurus at Pantone - Yellow.

According to Pantone's Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute,'Nobody gets ignored wearing yellow'. So in our eyes, if Baby's wearing yellow, nobody puts her in the corner.

Anyone can wear hues of yellow, mustard, gold, sunflower and marigold. These colours have a multitude of names describing each hue. It all depends on how you wear it and what you pair it with.

TAKE IT FROM THE CELEBS

These guys are always on trend with the seasonal colours thanks to their stylists who are always with a finger on the pulse.

Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid love a pop of mustard-yellow. We love the way Jessica Alba and Selena Gomez team stripes with their yellow pieces.

DOES MUSTARD-YELLOW SUIT ME?

Some of us may remember our Mums getting their colours done in the '80s (colour analysis, it was bloody huge back then). As kids, we were dragged around shops while Mum compared her seasonal colour chart to every damn item in store. Mum was the expert in colour matching us at 8 years old. You better believe everything we would try on in store didn't suit our complexion or washed us out.

Mum may have been right, but it's also all about the colour worn closest to the face, so just make sure you break it up with a top or knit.

GET SOME GOLD IN YOUR PANTS

If yellow isn't your go-to colour, then take the colour away from your face by teaming your favourite shirt or cami with mustard-yellow pants instead. There are so many cute relaxed cropped pants getting around this season in sunflower and gold hues. Find a top in a colour you are friends with and go nuts!

We love the way Free People have created 2 looks (both far right). Teaming an ivory cami or white shirt with mustard-gold pants keeps the colour to the bottom half.
