Festival Clothing Style Ups 2016

Getting geared up for Splendour!

Splendour in the Grass, every year the hype starts as soon as the lineup drops, we start piecing together our perfect festival looks, we stock up on glitter & start the mind journey into those moments of pure midnight bliss, dancing under the stars and transporting to a different world.

It’s the only real chance us Aussies have to rock gumboots with a white lace dress or to roll around in a grass field in our silk slip, we sip on beer & laze in the winter sun until the days roll into cool nights… we throw on faux fur and sway into the darkness.

Here at The Freedom State we are so passionate about making sure our girls have their dream festival outfits sorted that we got together our little dream team to help. It was Saturday morning, we had coffee (and beer) and our perfect festival muse Em Gurr rocked out like she was stage side, ultimate girl crush Pixie Bella captured the moments and Gold Coast stylist Jaimi-Lee Fitzgerald pulled together festival looks to make us swoon. With the side kick help of TFS own ultimate in store stylists Ness Falzon & Mandy Bell, we played The Cure (who else is ridiculously excited for their set at Splendour!?) and played festival into the afternoon.

Our styling tips this year? Keep things simple but fun, & always add face glitter! Think mini dresses paired back with over the knee boots & vintage inspired jackets, silk slip dresses with your lennons & a pair of gumboots, maxi skirts + 70s slogan tees, jumpsuits with a statement bandana & a structured hat. Change it up daily but keep the basics the same, stay comfortable but warm (cue amazing statement jackets by Amuse Society), where that perfect simple slip (by Silk Laundry) with piled on jewels (because when else do you get to channel your inner tribal goddess) & pair print with print in the good kind of festival clash – because the actual festival clash is never fun (who actually likes running from stage to stage?).

Let us do all the work for you, we’ve styled it, you shop it. Looks available online and in store now! See you at Splendour!
