About moissanite: First discovered by Henri Moissan in 1893 inside a meteor crater, moissanite is made of silicon carbide. It rates 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale and has a higher refractive index than diamond, meaning more fire and brilliance. A beautiful, mindful alternative to mined diamonds.
